Pezzolano takes a step forward by signing for Watford

Paulo Pezzolano takes the helm at Watford FC. The Uruguayan coach accepts the challenge of managing the Hornets with the passion and ambition that always characterises him. A new challenge for a coach who has the experience of having worked in countries with such a long football tradition as Brazil, Uruguay, Mexico and Spain. His successes and promotions – three so far – have attracted the attention of the English club, who have put a lot of effort into making him their new coach.

The English Championship is one of the toughest championships in world football, both in terms of its length and the level of the participating clubs. Watford, after three seasons away from the top, are looking to fight for a return to the elite of English football.

“It’s a great source of pride. I know what this club represents, its history, its people. It’s a great responsibility and a challenge that motivates me a lot. I come with great enthusiasm and a great desire to work, to build a competitive team that represents the values of Watford,” said Paulo. His official social media channels increased in followers within minutes of the deal being announced.

The Uruguayan, who becomes the first South American coach in Watford’s history, arrives with the intention of leaving his mark, with a commitment to attacking football where his ability to manage young groups stands out. A new era for a team with 144 years of history, which hopes to live the best years under the guidance of Paulo Pezzolano and his coaching staff.

It is a period of real excitement because working with British football is always special. For the Uruguayan coach, it is an opportunity he has wanted for a long time; for us too, as it is in the UK where we started to help athletes such as Carlos Cuéllar, Juan Mata or César Azpilicueta to invest in their personal brand more than a decade ago. We are convinced that Pezzolano is a coach with a bright future ahead of him and it is our mission to help him transmit that passion and knowledge for football.
