José León

José León a Rayo Vallecano football player and international with the Spain National Squad under 19.

After a brilliant stage at the youth team of Real Madrid, José León decided to take a step forward and confront the challenge offered by Rayo Vallecano, he wants to become an important player in Vallecas and in Spain’s First Division (La Liga).

León is one of the latest talents of Madrid’s youth team. The defender from Madrid arrived to the youth team when he was less than 13 (Alevín) and since then he hasn’t stopped growing as a player until he got to Real Madrid Castilla, in which he became Captain. His job at Castilla was enough to make the pre-season with Real Madrid’s first team, with which he played two friendlies in the United States of America

Elegant when driving the ball, confident when defending and with a good ability in aerial balls, he can play in both centre-back positions although he dominates his left foot better. He can also play in midfield. His ability and ease to start the attacking plays from behind, his game vision and good positioning make him a versatile player.

During his stage at Real Madrid, José León lived an experience at Cultural Leonesa, a club in which he played on loan for a year and achieved a historical promotion to the Second Division. This club had been 42 years out of professional football until then.

Apart from having weared the shirts of Real Madrid, Cultural Leonesa and Fuenlabrada, José León has been an international player of the Spanish team. He has 9 caps with the Under 19 team. In 2014 he played the Elite Round for the European tournament. José León was always a starter for the 11 of Luis de la Fuente and he shared team with players like Héctor Bellerín, Munir, Gayá and Marcos Llorente. León stopped working with ImagoSport in 2020.
