Portu is a Real Sociedad footballer.

Cristian Portugués is synonymous with the character. The Real Sociedad player is one of the strikers with greater progression in recent years in la Liga, where he stood out in a newly promoted Girona thanks to his speed and great success near the area, not only for his goals but also for his ability to open spaces with his movement. A player with a real edge that changed his way of playing to become a specialist in attack and one of the most decisive strikers in La Liga.

Formed in the academy of Beniel and Real Murcia soon caught the attention of the big clubs that saw him as a forward-looking project. Valencia made a bet on him when he was 15 years old, and even made his debut with the first team under José Antonio Pizzi orders in both La Liga and Europa League.

His career and his game changed totally when he was loaned to Albacete, where he discovered an offensive potential he did not make use of until then. Advancing his position, he scored 12 goals and assisted 5 times in 79 games in the Second Division, which caught the attention of Girona who had in him a key piece to reach the top fly of Spanish football in his first year in the team.

His best version came after Pablo Machin’s bet for him. Aggressive in the pressure, with good physique and with a lot of mobility, he gave Girona great alternatives in attack either as a striker or winger.

11 goals and 6 assists in his first season in the top fly prove his ability to be one of the most decisive strikers. In his fans memory will always be his two goals to win Real Madrid in both Montilivi and Santiago Bernabéu.

Versatile player, Portu was also the fastest player in the league in the 2018/2019 season with a top speed of 35km / h but not in attack but helping the team in defence in a match at Camp Nou.
