David Goldar Puts His Trust in Imagosport

David Goldar, captain of Cypriot side Pafos, has chosen Imagosport to work on his image and communication at a key moment in his sporting career. The Galician centre-back, who is currently competing in the UEFA Champions League with the Cypriot club and has made history by winning both the Cup and the League for the first time since the club’s foundation, is eager to continue growing in every aspect of his professional career.

As Pafos captain, Goldar is one of the cornerstones of the team. He is now in his third season at the club, which he joined after playing for Burgos and making history at Ibiza, where he achieved promotion to Spain’s Segunda División and became the highest-scoring defender in the league.

Developed through the youth academy at Celta de Vigo, Goldar made his first-team debut under Luis Enrique in 2014. The current PSG head coach showed his trust in a player who has steadily grown throughout his career, progressing through multiple levels of football before taking part in historic matches such as Pafos’ Champions League encounters against Villarreal, Monaco, and Olympiacos. Against Villarreal, Goldar played a role in the club’s first-ever Champions League victory; against Monaco, Pafos earned a valuable draw; and away to the Greek giants Olympiacos, he was instrumental in securing another point.

Before facing teams such as Bayern Munich or Juventus, David Goldar competed in the 2024–2025 Conference League, a competition in which Pafos successfully progressed from the group stage.

Beyond his strong performances on the pitch, David Goldar has also shown that his qualities extend far beyond the field of play. At a very young club and within a dressing room made up of nearly 20 nationalities, the Galician defender has established himself as captain thanks to his leadership and his ability to communicate fluently in Spanish, Portuguese, and English.
