Femaddi, a new challenge for ImagoSport

The Madrid Sports Federation for Sportspeople with Intellectual Disabilities, Femaddi, has been using sport as a tool to improve the lives of people with intellectual disabilities for more than 20 years. In 2023 it organised competitions, meetings and courses, managing almost 3,000 licences. That is why it has been for us a great responsibility and at the same time a tremendous thrill to start working on communication with them.

Working on inclusion and diversity through sport is a value that we have shared at ImagoSport since our foundation. For us the challenge is to increase the visibility of the work that is done in the Federation every day in accordance with the values we wish to transmit. Femaddi has almost 7,000 followers on its official channels and since 2023 we have strived to give them a common identity, feeding their content in a constant and coherent way. Another important point has been to professionalise this content. In this sense, we are creating stories such as that of Luismi Loro in swimming or Luis de Castro in basketball (his video had 3,500 views) that highlight the importance of the Femaddi Leagues but also of the families and clubs that work with people with intellectual disabilities.

The SpinConnect challenge was another of the milestones in which we collaborated with Femaddi. This is an initiative that linked Las Rozas with Salamanca -with an intermediate stop in Ávila- together with a multicoloured team led by the Olympic champion Samuel Sánchez. The aim was to raise funds to create an App adapted to Femaddi users, helping them to follow and participate in the Federation’s competitions and events. We coordinated press releases and social media, achieving a very satisfactory result that will be presented in the first quarter of 2024.

Our next objective is to solidify the work we do with Femaddi, making more and more people aware of its work and, above all, that as a society we are aware of how valuable sport is to improve people’s lives.
