Juan Mata generates a massive impact in Australia

Juan Mata has decided to continue his career in the Australian League. The Spanish international has committed to the Western Sydney Wanderers project, where he will play this season in the Australian league. After winning the Turkish and Japanese leagues, Juan aims to help his team secure another title. Western Sydney Wanderers stand as the only Australian club with the Asian Champions League in their silverware.

His signing has made a significant impact on the Australian A-League. Positive comments flooded his social media channels within minutes of the announcement. Mata’s team will debut in the competition on 19 October in the derby against Sydney FC, who added Brazilian Douglas Costa to their squad.

Alen Stajcic, Wanderers boss, added: “The addition of Juan to our club and team is priceless. He is one of the most respected, gifted and awarded players of a generation and brings not only football talent and success rarely seen in Australian club football, but also a humility to share his experiences and insights.”

Juan trained throughout August with Danish side Nordsjaelland and will soon travel to Sydney to join his new club. Western Sydney Wanderers also run a significant foundation, developing various projects off the pitch. An exciting challenge awaits Juan Mata on all fronts.
